'Rundskop' genomineerd voor Oscar! (video)

Feest in ons kleine filmlandje, want zopas werd bekendgemaakt dat onze eigen makelij ‘Rundskop’ mee mag dingen naar een Oscar, dé prijs der prijzen in de filmwereld.Binnen een goede maand kan België geschiedenis schrijven. Vanmiddag werd bekendgemaakt dat ‘Rundskop’ (alias ‘Bullhead’) bij de 5 kanshebbers zit voor een Academy Award en indien het pareltje van regisseur Michaël R. Roskam dat handelt over de Limburgse hormonenmaffia inderdaad wint, zal dat de eerste keer ooit zijn dat België een Oscar voor beste niet-Engelstalige film mee naar huis neemt. “We zijn ongelooflijk verrast en verrukt over deze nominatie. We bedanken de Belgische selectiecommissie om 'Rundskop' deze kans te hebben gegeven, en zijn blij dat we het vertrouwen dat de commissie ons heeft gegeven, nu hebben kunnen verzilveren”, vertelt producent Bart Van Langendonck.

Chapeau ook voor hoofdrolspeler Matthias Schoenaerts die al met één been in Hollywood vertoeft. Winnen zou mooi zijn, maar dan moet de jury onze inzending verkiezen boven ‘Monsieur Lazhar’ van Philippe Falardeau (Canada), ‘A separation’ van Asghar Farhadi (Iran), ‘Footnote’ van Joseph Cedar (Israël) en ‘In darkness’ (Polen). Sinds de allereerste Academy Awards stuurde ons land 35 inzendingen waarvan er 5 werden genomineerd voor beste niet-Engelstalige film (onder meer ‘Daens’ van Stijn Coninx en ‘Iedereen Beroemd’ van Dominique Deruddere), maar helaas nog geen enkele die met het 3,8 kilo-wegende beeldje mocht pronken.
