Belgische ontwikkelaar deelt indrukwekkende CGI trailer en gameplaybeelden van Baldur’s Gate III

De populaire Belgische gamestudio Larian Studios heeft gisterenavond Baldur’s Gate III uit de doeken gedaan tijdens de PAX East. Het is een turn based RPG gebaseerd op de populaire Dungeons & Dragons-games.

De game begint direct na de gebeurtenissen van de onderstaande CGI-trailer. De speler wordt ontvoerd door de Mind Flayers, een Tadpole is geplaatst in het hoofd van de speler. De Mind Flayers worden gestopt door drie helden op grote draken waarna het vliegende schip crasht. Jij overleeft de crash maar komt erachter dan je maar enkele dagen hebt om de Tadpole uit je hoofd te krijgen. En dus begint je avontuur in een wereld vol met gevaren en mysterie.

Tijdens het evenement werd er een uitgebreide gameplay presentatie gegeven van Baldur’s Gate III. De volledige presentatie is hieronder te bekijken. Let wel op dat het gaat om pre-alpha beelden. Dus niet alles liep goed en er zijn nogal wat bugs te zien tijdens de presentatie. Wel wordt de werking, combat, dialogen, cinematics, graphics en enorme scope van deze game goed weergegeven. Momenteel zijn er 350 mensen bezig om deze game te ontwikkelen, het grootste project van Larian Studios tot nu toe.

Over enkele maanden zal Larian een Early Access van Baldur’s Gate III beschikbaar stellen zodat ze samen met de fans deze game zo goed mogelijk kunnen optimaliseren voor de echte release.

Baldur’s Gate III is aangekondigd voor de PC en Google Stadia. Larian wil momenteel niets zeggen over een eventuele console-port.
